Begin to cook your chips as you normally would - I often just use oven chips for this recipe - so, cook as per packet instructions (or make from fresh if you'd prefer).Once your chips are cooked – pour the sauce on top and enjoy! Stir to combine – then it’s ready! Turn the heat off if your chips aren’t cooked yetġ3. If you’re adding in garlic granules (optional) then add them in nowġ2. Once the sauce is smooth, add in the cheeseġ1. Repeat this process until you’ve worked all the milk in and the sauce is smooth and silky – be patient, it will come together, just keep stirring and don’t rush itĩ. Then repeat the process – adding a bit more milk, mix until smoothĨ. Stir to form a paste – cook this for 1 minuteħ. Once the butter has melted, add in the flourĤ. You could make this cheese sauce with mild or medium cheddar if that’s your preference, too! How to make cheesy chips at home I always use mature cheddar as it’s always in my fridge, and I love the sharpness it adds. You could of course, also use this cheese sauce recipe to top whatever you fancy! You could even add in any other snacks into cook with the chips if you wish – such as breaded chicken or Quorn nuggets. They take minimal time to prepare, you don’t need to go out and grab ingredients for them, and they’re loved by the whole family. There’s something so comforting about simple, fuss-free meals like this.
